empty eyes....

they speak of natures beauty,
the valleys and the birds...
they talk about the rainbow,
to me they are just mere words...

they speak of different colours,
which brighten up their day...
but in their pretty discussion,
i have never anything to say...

they speak of lovely flowers,
i wonder how they must be....
they say they come in different hues,
none of which i can see...

everyday they come to meet me,
with a brand new story to share...
and when i fail to relate to them,
a strange silence fills the air...
perhaps its then they realise,
il'l never be able to find,
the beauty in all they tell me,
because right from birth im blind!!

i find it very awkward when,
they console me that its alright,
they also say im lucky i cannot see,
the present worlds miserable plight...
they talk of humans killing humans,
and say its horrid to see loved ones dead,
they speak of blasts and explosions,
and say they'd prefer being blind instead...
they tell me the world is no longer united,
there is warcry and bloodshed everywhere,
trains being burnt down, innocent ppl killed,
and yet noone seems enough to care...

they are a confused bunch i tellya,
they who can see but true vision lack...
atleast i see this world as one,
even though i see it all in black...

i dedicate the above piece of poetry ive written, to all those who are visually impaired but are much better off than those who are fortunate enough to be able to see and yet not human enough to understand...

@ sid
thanks for appreciating...
u already seem to have a very good perspective...
ohh as for the pic, the weather forecast today morning made the fog kinda clear out ;)

@ adi
u nutcase! i took off that pic because i kinda felt it wasent needed on the blog...thanks for the compliment though :D
and the reason for the B&W pic was i wanted it to go with the theme of my blog....
thought it would add to the 'nostalgic' effect a lot more than a dark 'maroon' ever could ;)

Beautiful lines, dear :)
Sometimes those who can see, abandon this privilege foorgetting that what is essential should be seen with the heart and not with the eyes..

very true...and often a times the world covers this outlook with the mask of 'pragmatism'...

@ rambler
i wish it could but am equally aware that this is just a small insignificant effort........
its not that easy to change the oulook most of the world has......

@ amberlight
thanks dear :)
