A million brilliant lies...

You had a million brilliant lies,
when I asked if you missed me...
You had a million brilliant lies,
when I asked if you cared...
You had a million brilliant lies,
for every time you kissed me...
You had a million brilliant lies,
and at last, the truth to speak you dared...

You tell me now that you love another,
and that things are not the same...
You tell me you see a bit of heaven,
whenever she calls out your name...

You tell me she means something,
but think i am the one for you...
You tell me that you love her,
but say you love me too...

I have a million brilliant lies,
when you ask me if i will stay...
I have a million brilliant lies,
to promise to 'share' you this way...
I have a million brilliant lies,
to keep this wedding band...
I have a million brilliant lies,
to vow and hold your hand...

You chose to speak the truth at last,
and now I should do that too...
I have to let you know today,
that i am no more in love with you...

When i asked you if you missed me,
I could never believe your lie...
Everytime that you kissed me,
I would whisper a silent goodbye...

I had a million brilliant lies,
to think our love hadn't faded...
I had a million brilliant lies,
to tell myself we were fine...
I had a million brilliant lies,
to keep my heart from getting jaded...
I had a million brilliant lies,
to say that you were all mine...

But creeps in reality-through slits and cracks,
and paints the whole world blue...
And as she entered into your heart,
I fell out of love with you...

For a heart that loves always knows,
when someone else arrives...
and love is just a matter of trust,
not a million brilliant lies...

Beautifully penned.
This could be someone's reality.

The last line says it all--there is no room for lies in love.

A wonderful, and as already pointed out, a downright honest work. The repeated use of "million brilliant lies" adds to the overall charm of your work. All in all, I loved it. Keep it up.

" love is just a matter of trust,
never a million brilliant lies".

Wonderful work. Loved the alliteration in this poem.

Very gently realistic, and the style lends itself very well to the topic. You should look at getting this set to a tune. Seems perfect for a song. Every cloud, like they say!

@ aditya
well, this is somebody's painful reality and it hurts to see that person go through it.

@ happy go lucky
thanks...but try as i might, words can never do complete justice to the one who is forced to live this story

@ gayu
hmmm..yes, but a heart that truly loves knows when its being cheated and a heart that cheats does not deserve to be loved.

Thankyou :)
This is indeed somebody's harsh reality.Though not mine, i have seen it happening with someone very close to me.
She did emerge a stronger person---but it wasn't love that made her strong...it was betrayal.

Yes, i have been very honest...like i almost always am---with what life has to show me and with what i see.

Snippets from my world and from the world around me make up my stories.
Fragments of lives lived by me and those around me sum up my verse.

Isn't it already singing...haven't my words found their way into your heart?

I sometimes crave an audience for my silence. Why then should i scream for fame? :)

Right after looking by way of this article, I pondered precisely the same thing that I usually discover when checking out fresh blogs. What do I think about the subject? Precisely how does it influence me personally?
