'sing-a-song' day !!!

Music---something which touches our soul and speaks volumes to the heart...
Ever heard a song and thought how it manages to put across exactly what u feel...yess music does have that beautiful effect :)
soulful melodies, amazing tunes and heartfelt lyrics have always managed to get me floored...

sometimes some songs just manage to speak your heart out ...at other times they clearly reflect ur state of mind...
There are ocassions wherein ive been clearly swept away by the lyrics of some songs...while sometimes its the music, the beats, the rhythm which takes me away into a beautiful world breaking all contact from reality for that brief period of eternal bliss...
we all have our choices...be it haunting melodies for that nostalgic soul or romantic ballads for the happy heart or maybe inspirational songs for a broken spirit, good music is the one which takes a dip in ur soul and captivates ur heart :)

I just got a fwded message from a friend and i thought why not put it here for u to answer...
so here goes...
If u are working in a radio station , which song would u dedicate for me?

so get the CD player in ur minds rolling and choose a song for me...
will be waiting for ur reply and the best one gets a 'toffee hamper' from pri *grin*
ohh yes and i would definitely reply back with a song for the winner :)

have a musical day ahead!!
keep smiling! :)

Have you heard of Alanis Morisette? Her number "Ironic" is something I would like to dedicate to you. Here are the lyrics (wee bit too long for a comment I guess)

An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
And isn't it ironic...dontcha think

It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought...it figures

Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids goodbye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
"Well isn't this nice..."
And isn't it ironic...dontcha think

It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought...it figures

Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's okay and everything's going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out when
You think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up
In your face

A traffic jam when you're already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic...dontcha think
A little too ironic...and yeah I really do think...

It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought...it figures

Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
Life has a funny, funny way of helping you out
Helping you out

oh music .. you encouraged me to talk here .. so bear with it please .. well ..

music .. I tell its one of those things which I donno came out of nowhere, may from the nature but its here to stay with us as a true soulmate .. It so happens a lot of times that I am hooked to one particular song and I listen to it over and over again .. latest being *No Surprises* by Radiohead .. and though it is a suicidal song but I am in love with it .. and if you would go with the lyrics of it or any Radiohead song for that matter, they are complicated, way tooo complicated to comprehend but the way this guy sings ..my god .. he makes it so painful u cant help but die for the song .. for the voice and for the void it creates ..and mine heart weaps as he sings ..

and its not that its only him, there have been a lot of singers in the past, and they have touched us in greater ways then any person closer to you would touch you .. be it love or a heart-shattering break up they have got it all ..and best of the better ones ..

I wish I could sing them and take away all that pain or share it, like they do .. its comercial for sure but then at some level they do connect with the people cause it is only when they had observed or been through the same they write them down in to words .. and we all go through that at some level .. so as a person they are not different just that their words are the best things that we feel understand us ..n a lot of times they do ..

I wonder wat would I be, if there was no music .. I would live but then I would be pale in weeks .. I sure would be ..

Actually I have written a lot of shit down here .. hehe .. not makin ne sense .. but then I dont have words to explain music .. and I guess no one does .. its something from both the heaven and the hell ..

Song for you: well there are a many and I sure would dedicate the ones I love, cause afterall I would be hearing the radio too *BIG GRIN* and moreover I would like you to know my taste in music *WINK WINK* so that you can request a gud one for me .. hehehe ..

ah ..this is hard .. I will jus come up with something ..lemme search .. you this is a big time problm wid me .. I love a lot of things but when it comes to stating them I freeze .. :D

SONG: well its kinda old and cliche may be .. but let it be .. so its gonna be ..

I too have a music player built in to my body which keeps playing music always.. and the genre fluctuates depending on my mood.. and generally there is one song that sort of sticks to me for a day.. it gets played again n again many times a day!

For one music lover to another..

"Ay kaash ke hum hosh mein ab aane na paaye !"
