"Loose ends"~~~55 fiction

She looked beautiful in the bridal Saree he had chosen for her.
Back at his home, he smiled at the perfect fit of the Sherwani she had shopped for him.

"Congratulations!! He really is a lucky man," he texted before leaving for the venue.

"Wish you both a happy married life too,"
she messaged back.

Friends, they are indispensable when it comes to shopping what might look good on us. They know us better than the mirror. :)

@ all
its interesting to see how the interpretation changes from person to person---that's what i like best about 55-fiction :)
each interpretation in turn makes a new story..would disclose the original idea behind this post at the end.
till then, please go right ahead and tell me how you interpret these 55 words :)

cheers!

Umm so they are bestfriends getting married....or just texting each other for the sake of fun and its thr own marriage....or they were lovers who had to marry diff people.

Made me think! I loved it!

Well-said Pri. Different interpretations adds different flavours to it and one can read it in various ways like a prism. Enjoyed reading it.

@ blasphemous aesthete
i was hoping someone would see the 'friendship' concept in this one :)
happy to know you did!

@ red handed
well, you said it all..and beautifully!
my mind did play along each of these ideas when i was writing this..and hence i was careful not to stick to any one emotion which would stereotype the relation :)

Lovely. Couldn't think of a better written story in such few words.
Hope it always remains fiction and not the truth of life for any of us.

@ nidhi
thanks dear :)
but why does it always have to be taken in a bitter way?
the story can also go as two best friends, getting married to different people and happy for each other :)
thts the exact reason i was careful not to incorporate any kinda emotional overtune to it...

but then i guess, your intretation is the one more likely to be close to reality these days..

thanks dear..and im really sorry if it triggered off a melancholic mood...

Pri said...

@ imperfect
like i said before, it need not be taken as a heart wrenching story..it could also be two best friends reminiscing over old times and wishing each other well, as they start off a new life with their respective spouses :)

@ shanky
thankyou for the kind words :)
