thinking about 'today'...

Sometimes time goes by so quickly...
It just seems yesterday that it was the start of 2007 and here i am counting the days to new years eve...
Its true...time just seems to fly...and yet sometimes it seems neverending...its ironical actually :)
sometimes the melody time plays seems to lock us in an eerie melancholy wch we can never hope to decipher...yet we are so enraptured by the tune that we never manage to break loose...
It binds us in a complex wrapwork wch often tempts us to look back into the past or try to peep into the future...and while we are at this, we often ignore our 'today'...
yes the same today wch is the only thing in our control...wch somewhere in some small little significant or insignificant way forms a part of our tomorrow...the same past wch kinda is responsible for shaping up the future...but why is it tht we ignore it when it is in the intermediate phase---the present??
Why do we prefer sighing about the past long gone or dreaming about the future long awaited??
Why are we stuck up in 'nostalgia' or 'blissful anticipation' instead of living and working towards a stable, secure and happy 'present' first??
We hardly notice what lies infront of us till its long gone past...
likewise we often tend to wait for something to happen...something to snap us out of the usual monotony of life...and while we keep hoping, we tend to overlook whats already happening...maybe its not significant enough at tht hour of time but who knows perhaps its the start of something...something we will wish we'd paid more heed to when we look behind at some point in the future...

I dont know if im making too much sense right now...
but heyy pay attention...who knows the pieces might just fall in place sometime soon...:)

I think d sad part is that we not only whine about the past tht is long gone .. but we also whine about the present .. the way it is .. n how it shud have been right ..nd what hardships we face (though thy might be nothing if compared) ..

so I guess we do screw up big time ..

I think the ultimate philosophy of life for all is 'It pains, but at least I got to curse something' ..

No ones life is right .. there's mess all around ;)

I don't think we ignore our present. We may not appreciate or acknowledge it because we are too busy living it. Only when this present becomes the past do we sit back and reminisce.

On the similar note, there is no denying the fact that sometimes our present gets monotonous and gloomy, and on those days, we look ahead towards a better tomorrow.

BTW, I love that song :)

sometimes too much thinking is injurious for health - just like smoking - try to float these thoughts out and let them go - you have done your deed for the day - accomplished something important - and a new day starts tommorow....
now i dont know if i am making sense :)

take care!and happy snoozing :D...

@ abhishek khanna
hmm hope so buddy...hope so :)

@ anuj
hmm u r right there...we often crib about our present too, only difference being most of us dont manage to take necessary action against it ...
and i guess the mess is partly because sometimes we know the cause and yet do nothin about it ...and realisation and regret comes in only when 'today' becomes 'yesterday'...
me knowing everything just right??? whoaa..thankyou...but i wish i really did...sigh!! :)

@ cosmic joy
i guess ur right there cosmic...most of the times we are too busy trying to come at pat with things goin on in our present...life keeps us too busy 'trying to survive' than actually 'living'...:)
but i still feel many (including me) spend a lotta time in the past and future and had we learnt to let go of the past and stop dreaming about the future, our present would have been a lot better than what it is today :)...
cant say for all though...exceptions do exist!
take care!

@ ceedy
ur makin perfect sense ceedy...often try telling myself the same thing :)
but i guess the human mind is too stubborn at times...
but yaa definitely agree...too much thinking can be pretty injurious to health and not at all needed most of the times...but then again, old habits die hard dont they? :D

Doc goes Nostalgic. The future depends on today and today depends on you. So get up doc and get going, without bothering whats up next, cos its not in ur hands, not in my hands , then why bother about kal (aane wala), kal jo gaya, us par hum kuch nahi kar sakte, jo aayega us par kuch kiya nahi ja sakta.

its only today wot we can do -- live life to full. there s one dialogue which GOD (Amitabh) utters in KANK :

"Jeena he to ab, pyar karna he to ab(irrelevant)"

And SRK says

"Jeeyo, khush raho, kya pata kal ho na ho "

And Kabir says

"Kal kare so aaj kar, aaj kare so ab, pal me parlay (QAYAMAT) hogi, to bahuri karega kab"

And its deformed to

"Kal kare so aaj kar, aaj kare so parso, itni bhi kya jaldi he, jab jeena he barso"....

pick one u like the most or form ur own statement........lol!!!

and 2007 is an year of mess and entropy of highest order in the lives of us all bloggers.....Wot say ?

Life sometimes gets tht way. Sometimes it is not a steady stream, where the past, present and future are clearly set. Our past is important to remind us, to guide us thorugh our present. Our dreams for the future gives our present a direction, defining it.
And such in life, the boundaries sometimes are hard to point out between past, present, etc.

I am catching up on all the blogs today. So droping by to say hi!!

well...2007?? hmm well it wasent thaat bad for me...but then it wasent thaat good too...guess it just made me stronger...:)

@ sam
rightly said sam...
cheers to tht!!
*raises her glass* :)

@ kyrie
i cant help but agree with u kyrie...
but sometimes its also important that we demarcate them...especially the past from the present...:)because smudging the line will only caise more chaos and confusion...
we do have to learn from our past and yes hope for the future ...but not at the cost of our our present...
its just not worth it...
thanks for dropping by...keep visiting :)
take care!

@ compassion unlimited
easier said than done...because when tomorrow comes, we all care dont we??
